{"id":2620,"date":"2022-11-09T10:33:51","date_gmt":"2022-11-09T10:33:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diplomacypakistan.com\/?p=2620"},"modified":"2022-11-09T10:33:51","modified_gmt":"2022-11-09T10:33:51","slug":"twitters-new-verification-system-to-have-two-tiers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diplomacypakistan.com\/?p=2620","title":{"rendered":"Twitter&#8217;s new verification system to have two tiers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twitter&#8217;s new revamped verification system will reportedly have two tiers, one for paid verification subscription and another blue checkmark for selected official accounts.<br \/>\nThe latter will not be available with a fee, according to Twitter VP, Esther Crawford.<br \/>\nIn a series of tweets, Crawford confirmed that the official verification would only be for \u201cgovernment accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers and some public figures.\u201d<br \/>\nThe new additional tier seems to address the criticism that had attacked the company ever since its new CEO, Elon Musk, announced a paid subscription for verified accounts, making it up for grabs for anyone on the internet.<br \/>\nCritics were concerned about impersonators and scammers taking advantage of the system.
