Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday asked the provincial government of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to open up the national highways.
\nAddressing a press conference, the interior minister said that a \u201cfitna march\u201d is ongoing in Khyber Pakhtunkwa and Punjab, adding that roads were being blocked due to this.
\n\u201cI strongly request the provincial governments to open the national highways immediately,\u201d said Sanaullah. He also apologised to the people affected by the march on behalf of the federal government.
\nThe minister also said that only a few thousand people are protesting in the two provinces and urged the police to keep legal options open.
\nPTI protest outside IG Punjab’s office The PTI workers protested outside the office of Punjab’s inspector general of police over the FIR on the attack on Imran Khan in Wazirabad.
\nThe workers set fire to the tires outside the office while the police barricaded the main road outside the IG’s office.
