Four Indian Air Force Rafale fighter jets conducted a patrolling mission over Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir on the night of April 29-30, remaining within Indian airspace, according to security sources. However, the aircraft quickly retreated after being detected by Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets, sources confirmed. PAF jets swiftly identified the Indian warplanes during their patrol, prompting the Rafale jets to withdraw in confusion and haste, security officials added. The Pakistani military remains on high alert and fully prepared to respond to any act of aggression from India, sources further said. The tensions between the arch-rivals have intensified in the past few days, with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif saying Pakistan had reinforced its forces and was ready for any incursion by India, while on the other side, India\u2019s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given his military \u201coperational freedom\u201d to act on the Pahalgam attack. PTV News, citing security sources, said that four Rafale fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) were spotted \u201cpatrolling\u201d occupied Kashmir without crossing the Line of Control. \u201cAircraft of the PAF immediately spotted the Indian fighter jets,\u201d the report added. \u201cAs a result of PAF\u2019s diligent action, the Indian Rafale jets panicked and were forced to flee,\u201d PTV News reported. The development comes after Information Minister Attaullah Tarar earlier today said \u201ccredible intelligence\u201d reports indicated that India was planning to conduct a military action against Pakistan in the \u201cnext 24 to 36 hours\u201d. In a televised statement issued shortly after 2am, Tarar said: \u201cPakistan has credible intelligence that India intends to carry out military action against Pakistan in the next 24-36 hours on the pretext of baseless and concocted allegations of involvement in the Pahalgam incident.\u201d He said Pakistan vehemently rejected \u201cIndian self-assumed hubristic role of judge, jury and executioner in the region\u201d and it was completely \u201creckless\u201d. \u201cPakistan has been the victim of terrorism itself and truly understands the pain of this scourge,\u201d the minister said, adding: \u201cWe have always condemned it in all its forms and manifestations anywhere in the world.\u201d Being a responsible state, Tarar noted, Pakistan \u201copenheartedly offered a credible, transparent and independent investigation\u201d by a neutral commission of experts to ascertain the truth. \u201cUnfortunately, rather than pursuing the path of reason, India has apparently decided to tread the dangerous path of irrationality and confrontation, which will have catastrophic consequences for the complete region and beyond,\u201d he stressed. The information minister said the \u201cevasion of credible investigations is in itself sufficient evidence exposing India\u2019s real motives\u201d. \u201cConsciously making strategic decisions hostage to public sentiments, purposefully trumped up for securing political objectives, is unfortunate and deplorable,\u201d he added.
