The Italian Coast Guard has announced that it has brought more than 1,000 migrants to Sicily from the central Mediterranean Sea.

\nAnother boat with a total of 451 migrants landed in the southern Italian city of Catanzaro Lido on Wednesday evening, August 24, while immigrants mainly came from Sudan, Egypt, and Syria.
\nThrough a Twitter post on Thursday, August 25, the private aid organization SOS M\u00e9diterranee announced that it rescued 41 people from a wooden boat on Wednesday night and brought them aboard its Ocean Viking search-and-rescue (SAR).
\nMeanwhile, SOS M\u00e9diterranee said that the difficult ship was already taking on water and among this group were three women and three unaccompanied minors.
\nIn addition, the crew reported four empty boats floating in the water in the Libyan search and rescue area the day before. The same also stressed that what happened to the people was unclear.
