The Russian Kremlin said on Monday that France and Germany were showing \u201cno desire\u201d to participate in mediation on the Ukrainian conflict and praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan\u2019s offer to organise talks.
\n\u201cAnkara takes a different position from that of Paris and Berlin\u2026 and has declared its readiness to continue mediation efforts,\u201d Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
\n\u201c[French President Emmanuel] Macron and [German Chancellor Olaf] Scholz \u2014 they have shown no desire to listen to Russia\u2019s position or participate in mediation efforts,\u201d he added.
\nOver the weekend Russia\u2019s defence minister Sergei Shoigu called his American, French, Turkish and British counterparts.
\nShoigu conveyed \u201cconcerns about possible provocations by Ukraine with the use of a \u2018dirty bomb\u2019\u201d, according to the Russian side.
\nShortly after, Washington, London and Paris issued a joint statement \u201crejecting Russia\u2019s transparently false accusations about Ukraine\u201d.
\nMeanwhile Erdogan has aimed to retain open dialogue with Russia and Western countries in Russia\u2019s military offensive and emerged as a key mediator.
\nHe has played a role in the only two tangible agreements between Moscow and Kyiv since the beginning of the offensive.
\nTurkey helped broker the deal that allowed grain exports to resume under the UN\u2019s aegis in July.
