The Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected on Monday PTI Chairman Imran Khan\u2019s petition challenging the order of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana reference case.
\nOn Friday, the ECP disqualified the former premier in the Toshakhana reference, stating he had committed corrupt practices by making \u201cfalse statements and submitting incorrect declaration\u201d.
\nIHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case, saying that Khan is not banned from contesting elections.
\nEarlier, objections were raised by the registrar\u2019s office on the PTI chair’s plea. PTI\u2019s counsel Barrister Ali Zafar presented his arguments before the court.
\nDuring today’s hearing, Justice Minallah asked about the objections to the petition.
\nHe was informed by Khan\u2019s lawyer that one objection was on the biometric verification and the other was that a certified copy of ECP\u2019s decision was not attached with the plea.
