The US 7th Fleet\u2019s statement said the warships navigated through a \u201chigh seas corridor in the strait that is beyond the territorial waters of any coastal state.\u201d The voyage was also described as demonstrating the two nations’ \u201ccommitment\u201d to \u201cupholding freedom of navigation for all nations as a principle,\u201d the statement added.
