{"id":202,"date":"2022-09-01T17:48:27","date_gmt":"2022-09-01T17:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diplomacypakistan.com\/?p=202"},"modified":"2022-09-01T17:48:27","modified_gmt":"2022-09-01T17:48:27","slug":"tech-giant-apple-to-donate-to-flood-relief-recovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diplomacypakistan.com\/?p=202","title":{"rendered":"Tech giant Apple to donate to flood relief, recovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CEO of tech giant Apple, Tim Cook, has said the company will donate to relief and recovery efforts in Pakistan after the country was devastated by historical floods.<br \/>\nCook, heading the $2.5 trillion company, said the floods are &#8220;devastating humanitarian disasters&#8221; and added that &#8220;our thoughts&#8221; are with those who lost loved ones and all those affected.<br \/>\nTorrential rains and flooding have submerged a third of Pakistan and killed more than 1,100 people, including 380 children as the United Nations appealed for aid on Tuesday for what it described as an &#8220;unprecedented climate catastrophe.&#8221;<br \/>\nThe country has received nearly 190% more rain than the 30-year average in the quarter through August this year, totalling 390.7 millimetres (15.38 inches).
