Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Thursday named its Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan as the party nominee for the post of the country’s prime minister. Speaking to the media after\u00a0meeting with PTI founder at Adiala Jail, PTI leader Asad Qaiser said that party secretary general Omar Ayub would be the party\u2019s candidate for the prime minister\u2019s slot. He further said that Imran would give a date later today for a countrywide protest campaign against alleged rigging in the Feb 8 polls. Qaiser further said he had been given an \u201cassignment\u201d to engage with all political parties protesting against the poll results, specifically mentioning JUI-F, ANP and QWP. \u201cWe want that we all form a strategy because the mandate was stolen \u2014 this was the worse and most rigged election in our history,\u201d he said, adding that polls lacked \u201ccredibility\u201d. Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said that PTI leader Asad Qaiser\u2019s brother Hakimullah had been nominated by the party for the speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Speaking alongside Qaiser after meeting PTI founder Imran Khan, Saif relayed a message from the ex-premier. \u201cHe also gave a special message with regards to America [\u2026] the US had not played their role accordingly [\u2026] Imran has a message that the US has an opportunity [\u2026] and should keep an eye on rigging in the elections.\u201d \u201cIf they are champions of democracy, then they should voice it if they think the elections in Pakistan were not fair,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
