{"id":1339,"date":"2022-10-04T06:10:32","date_gmt":"2022-10-04T06:10:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diplomacypakistan.com\/?p=1339"},"modified":"2022-10-04T06:10:32","modified_gmt":"2022-10-04T06:10:32","slug":"shc-orders-removal-of-sharjeel-memons-name-from-ecl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diplomacypakistan.com\/?p=1339","title":{"rendered":"SHC orders removal of Sharjeel Memon&#8217;s name from ECL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the removal of Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon\u2019s name from exit control list.<br \/>\nAccording to details, a two-member bench \u2013 headed by Justice Agha \u2013 accepted Sharjeel Inam Memon\u2019s review petition in an Rs6 billion corruption reference filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2016.<br \/>\nDuring the hearing, Memon\u2019s counsel noted that the court had ordered to put his client\u2019s name on ECL while granting bail. \u201cThe Sindh Information Minister has to get permission repeatedly to leave the country,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nThe lawyer further said that his client was regularly appearing before the trial court, requesting the court to remove his name from the ECL. Meanwhile, the NAB prosecutor also did not oppose the request.<br \/>\nAfter hearing the arguments, the SHC two-member bench accepted the minister\u2019s review petition and ordered the removal of Sharjeel Memon\u2019s name from ECL.<br \/>\nThe National Accountability Bureau had filed a reference in 2016 against the incumbent provincial information minister, deputy directors of the Sindh information department Mansoor Ahmed Rajput, Mohammed Yousuf Kaboro and others for allegedly committing corruption from 2013 to 2015 in awarding advertisements of provincial government\u2019s awareness campaigns in electronic media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the removal of Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon\u2019s name from exit control list.
