Karachi –(DP News) One hundred students from disadvantaged communities graduated from the United States-funded English Works program in Karachi today. The six-month long program is part of U.S. Consulate’s ongoing $8 million investment to empower and educate young people in Sindh and Balochistan by providing professional development, leadership training, and strong English language skills.
English Works program provides job-related English and practical skills development for disadvantaged youth between the ages of 18 and 25. The program provides participants up to 12 hours of weekly classroom instruction in English vocabulary, grammar, and writing for use in workplace environments. The program also includes seminars, workshops, and conferences on resume writing, job interviews, and workplace behaviour.
