Nepra approves Rs2.97 minimize in energy tariff

The Nationwide Electrical Energy Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Friday authorised Rs 2.97 per unit minimize in energy tariff underneath the top month-to-month gas value adjustment for the month of November.

Earlier, the CPPA, in its petition submitted with the regulator, sought Rs 2.92 per unit discount in energy value on account of month-to-month gas value adjustment. Additionally, the regulator by approving Rs 2.97 per unit lower in energy costs authorised Rs 19 billion value reduction for all energy customers besides Ok-Electrical.

The CPPA pleaded that complete 6.54 billion models of electrical energy have been offered to electrical energy distribution corporations (DISCOs) within the final month. Gas price on energy era was recorded at Rs 4.49 per unit whereas the reference gas price was set at Rs 7.41 per unit. Additionally, energy manufacturing with furnace and diesel oil was lowered by 1.66 billion models within the mentioned span of 1 month, if the facility era throughout October is counted.
