Bremen, Germany (dpa) – A brand new play a couple of Germany within the near-future after Chancellor Angela Merkel’s departure from politics isn’t a “demonization” of the highly effective politician, its director informed dpa on Monday.
The play, named “Angela I” and carried out by Bremen’s Shakespeare Firm, portrays a post-2021 future wherein Merkel is not chancellor and has disappeared from public view.
“Angela Merkel has renounced energy and has surprisingly disappeared,” in response to the theatre. “The nation is having a tough time getting the chancellor out of its system. Whereas the political class is making an attempt to regulate, the individuals are planning an rebellion.”
Director Katja Hensel stated that play was “not in regards to the demonzation of Merkel – it’s in regards to the impotence of energy.”
The play is premiering on Thursday and is scheduled to run till Could 4.
