Karachi (DP Information): Roughly 150 artists, college students, and humanities group members gathered at Pakistan American Cultural Heart (PACC) as we speak for the dedication of a mural designed and painted by American artists. Throughout their two-week keep in Karachi, the 15-year previous American group Phrases Beats and Life (WBL) led a sequence of hands-on graffiti and mural artwork workshops on the Commune Artists’ Colony, Arts Council of Pakistan, Indus Valley College of Arts, and PACC Karachi. WBL makes use of “Paint Jams” and trainings to facilitate group dialogue classes across the energy of artwork – particularly public artwork – to encourage social change.
“The artistic vitality of those artists, the bonds of friendships established right here in Pakistan, and the brand new works impressed by these creative collaborations will endure,” Consul Basic Grace Shelton stated on the mural dedication reception.
The U.S. Authorities awarded a grant to WBL to develop the creative expertise of younger Pakistani artists in graffiti, mural and public artwork. Earlier than arriving in Karachi, WBL accomplished tasks in Islamabad and Lahore.
